It’s not technically Fall yet but I’ve got a bad case of Fall Fever. Bring on the pumpkin spice coffee, fall foliage, and fab boots. How adorable is this fall-themed greeting card? If that doesn’t make you giddy for Fall, I don’t know what will.

Head on over to Spektral Spark to see more beautiful hand-painted cards.

Always Room for a Tart

21 Nov

Coming from the Queen of Christmas, it’s taking all that have to not post about all of my fab Christmas recipes and finds. As you know, Thanksgiving isn’t my most favored holiday, and even though I’ve practically skipped over Thanksgiving in my mind, I couldn’t just skip over it completely here on FF. Although I’m already in full blown Christmas mode, there’s still a few autumn inspired desserts that I absolutely must make. This French apple tart being top of the list. Holy warm, flaky decadence!

If you’re still on the hunt for the perfect Thanksgiving dessert, then head on over to The Comfort of Cooking. She doesn’t disappoint and she certainly knows how to whip up a mind blowing dessert.

The best part? Your guests will be fooled that you slaved away in the kitchen baking this good lookin’ tart, when it’s actually pretty darn quick & easy.

What dessert are you trying to squeeze in before Christmas cookie baking?

Corduroy Crazed

14 Nov

I don’t know about you guys, but as soon as the leaves start falling and the air becomes a little bit cooler, all that is on my mind is corduroy. When you’re looking for comfort, style, and warmth, corduroy is the way to go. I’m a fan of all types of corduory … skirts, pants, blazers… I don’t discriminate.

Corduroy comes in a variety of different wales, or simply the width of the “cord”. Different widths of your wales help you define a “style”. Although corduroy is already defined as a “casual” fabric, a thicker wale is defined as more casual and rustic. If you’re looking for a more office appropriate cord, choose a thinner wale.

The best part about cords? They come in an array of plaids, prints and bold colors that add sass to your outfit. Corduroy is a fall wardrobe staple for it guarantees both comfort and style.

Lets Talk About Boots

22 Oct

The weather is finally cool enough for boots! Tons of women set forth this time of year on what is perhaps the most challenging sartorial quests of their lives: to find the perfect boot. I’ve created a list of some of my favorite boots of the season to alleviate some of the perfect-boot-searching-stress. You can thank me later.

These 70′s inspired boots are perfect for your casual weekend attire.

Create a fierce look with these wicked lace-up combat boots. Pair these boots with a skirt and tights to create a girly twist.

Those looking for the perfect casual boot, look no further. Be sure to wear this type of boot with tights, skinny jeans, or just bare legged … anything baggy with make you look a little less boho and more hobo-ish, and I won’t allow that to happen!

My favorite boot lately is the wedged ankle booties. I picked up a few pairs last year and have never looked back. Pair this modern and edgey boot with sleek and lean silhouette.

Bring a fashion-forward look to your favorite cocktail dresses with these low-cut heeled boots.

AH, the riding boot. It doesn’t get anymore classic than this. They’re great with everything from flirty dresses to slick trousers. The best part? Riding boots will never go out of style! You need these.

Whether tall and slouchy or short and structured, this season FrillyFabulous has you (and your feet) covered with the hottest boot trends.

Fall Bucket List*

11 Oct

Between long hours at the office, grueling gym sessions, and the frequent baking obligations, stopping to enjoy the season can sometimes be forgotten. I stumbled across this fab Fall Bucket List over at Loves of Life and knew it was the perfect way to remember to stop and smell the coffee the pumpkin lattes. As you know, I’m huge on making lists, so the idea of a Fall Bucket List appealed to me. Take a peek at my Fall Bucket List this year:

I’ve been able to check off some of these activities already, which makes me a very happy bucket-lister. To ensure you take full advantage of the crisp air, luring smells, and gorgeous foliage, you too should make a Fall Bucket List. Don’t worry, it’s not too late!

Cozy Up This Fall

5 Oct

Well, I think Fall is here to stay this time. It’s been so chilly in the mornings and I couldn’t be happier. This time of year, when the air is crisp and the scent of pumpkin fills the air, happens to be my favorite season for fashion. If you live in an area that experience Fall temperatures, then you’re familiar with the bittersweet task of incorporating outerwear back into your wardrobe and saying farewell to your beach cover ups. With temperatures low enough to call for a light jacket or sweater, having the perfect fall “cover-up” is necessary. That’s where the poncho comes in. A hybrid between of half sweater, half jacket, the poncho is one of the hottest must haves this season.

1 – $38, Debenhams // 2 – $43, Debenhams // 3 – $1365, Net-A-Porter // 4 – $25, H&M // 5 – $45, Bank Fashion // 6 – $45, H&M

While generally described as billowy and shapeless, ponchos have gotten the a bad rap in the fashion department. Until now. Cozy up with a poncho this Fall and create a feminine and figure flattering look by following a few simple steps. Avoid looking frumpy by balancing a poncho with a pair of fitted jeans. Selecting the right poncho for yourself will convey sophistication, style and personality, so chose a poncho accordingly. If you’re vertically challenged like me, avoid looking like the Three Wise Men, by choosing a shorter length poncho. Maximize the chic factor and belt a poncho to accentuate the waist. To create an easy going look, pair a poncho with a casual pair of boots. The best part? While rocking a poncho, your outfit underneath is not easily visible, so regardless of what your wearing underneath, you’ll look totally put together. Hello lazy days!

Are you into this trend or is it too much like wearing a blanket out in public?
